Well I’ve changed the header image, went up into the loft where my bench is and just grabbed a load of different items to put on the bench to take a photo, hoping to show all the different things I use. I think it has worked OK and certainly links to the blog better than clouds.
At the bottom of the image you will see a little cartoon character peeking out, that is the beginnings of My Neighbor Totoro (hard to believe this is from 198 sterling silver project. I honestly can’t decide if this is going to be a pendant or a brooch, I haven’t got as far as the putting the item fully together but here is an image to show you how far on I am at the moment.
I have just purchased some riffler needles files to hell with the filing of the shapes on his chest, when I am happy with that I will solder the stomach/chest onto the piece you see with the image on. I tend to use pritt stick to put the image of what I want to cut onto the sterling silver so that it’s easier to follow and any pen marks won’t be wiped off while working. Some people use stickers, but depending on the adhesive (more if you are placing directly onto the silver and not on to the protective plastic) you could find them difficult to get off.
So I now need to decided on how to do the eyes and nose and if I will add whiskers or not, I will update you on the progress as I am able to get the word done – damn full time work!
